AROUND the Hoh

The Hoh experiences 250 days of measurable precipitation, some years that amounts to 90" per year, some years 190".  What that means is that our summers are special, the whole Forks area comes alive with outdoor activities once the downpours have turned to foggy rainbows.

RIVER RAFTING

The Hoh River is a beautiful back drop for a morning or afternoon on a raft.  Seasonal trips are available with all equipment provided.  Class II makes for a family friendly adventure.  Contact www.hohriverrafters.com  for reservations.  Pat Neal's guiding, and tales of Peninsula life are legendary! 360-683-9867

HORSEBACK RIDING

Horses have been a part of getting around the Olympic Peninsula for over a hundred years.  Outfitters in the Forks area will arrange trips in the Hoh Rainforest with advance reservations

MOUNTAIN BIKING

The logging roads that circle that back hills of the Forks area make for exciting mountain biking tours.  Best of all the Olympic Peninsula is working to create a full loop path, known as the Discovery Trail.  https://olympicdiscoverytrail.org/

MOUNTAIN CLIMBING

It is a little known fact that Mt Olympus is a pleasant break from over-traveled mountaineering spots.  Very few make the trek 18 miles through the rainforest to begin the trek up the glacier and rock.  The view at the top is worth every mile!
